Warmest Wishes–Color Throwdown Challenge #476

CTD476_2018jan17

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week Miss Vickie is challenging us with a sweet Wintry color combo based on her VERY sweet inspiration piece.

swatch476

I started with a Blue Breeze card stock base and created a snow storm using watered down Copic Opaque White and a small craft brush. While that was drying, I cut Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics and Single Stitch Line Rounded Rectangle Frames from Sweet Tooth card stock and Deer Love from Kraft card stock with Black Licorice card stock eyes and noses.

CTD476_2018jan17b

I laid out my scene and stamped Modern Trees and the sentiment from Snow Globe Sentiments with Black Licorice dye ink, then built my scene, popped up on foam tape, to finish.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD476 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd476 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented Guest Designer, Debra James, who is going to stay with us through January!

MFT January Release Replay

releasereplay_2018jan16

Hello and welcome to MFT’s January Release Replay! Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

I absolutely LOVE the new Marble Background! I love it in gray for a “natural” look and I love it in bright colors for a funky look. For this card I went with the funky look :) I inked it up with Coral Crush, Poppy, and Razzle Berry dye inks and stamped it on a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I stamped Romantic Script Background, trimmed it down so the gorgeous colored marble would show, and cut the hearts from the center using Hearts in a Row – Vertical Die-namics.

releasereplay_2018jan16b

After added a backing of matching card stocks to show through the hearts, I popped it up on foam, added sentiments from From the Heart Stamp Set, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock, and finished off with some matching hearts, cut with Blueprints 32 Die-namics and Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics.

And that’s it from me! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Stitched With Love

stitchedwithloveall_2018jan15

You already know the value of crafting handmade gifts from the heart — especially for sharing the love on Valentine’s Day. Maybe you’ve even integrated some of your other crafty hobbies into your paper crafting. Our Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics makes it so easy to marry cross stitch with paper crafting and with our Cross-Stitch Tag Heart Patterns, we’ve taken the guesswork out of pattern planning as well! The design team was challenged to put this new pattern collection to use to create projects Stitched with Love.

MFT_StitchedWLove_Sq

What a fun challenge! I used to be a cross-stitching FOOL! Before I found paper-crafting, LOL! I made 1000s of stitches over the years and haven’t stitched in a long time so it was nice to get back to it if even in a small way. I used a couple of the Cross-Stitch Heart Patterns that you can download as they are and then designed another one of my own using part of one.

Here’s my planning process: I cut the center of Cross-Stitched Tag from printer paper and marked off my stitches with markers so I’d have something to go by. You can see I made a few boo-boos but better to get the kinks out this way than on the finished product ;-)

stitchedwithlovetrial_2018jan15

They were very easy to just follow once I got the stitches placed properly. This first tag uses one of the provided patterns exactly but I had to embellish, of course ;-) I added a heart arrow to the top and a sentiment from From the Heart Stamp Set to the bottom.

stitchedwithlove1_2018jan15

For this one I wanted to do a rainbow heart, so I used the singer larger heart and sketched out how many rows of each color to use.

stitchedwithlove2_2018jan15

This one uses one of the four small hearts and I added the letters to spell LOVE and finished off with some Sparkling Clear sequins.

stitchedwithlove3_2018jan15

I added Black & White Stripes patterned paper to the top of each, along with a Black Licorice grommet, ribbon, and baker’s twine to finish off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon!

Let’s Dish–MFT Color Challenge #85

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Summer Splash, Banana Split, Electric Red, and Orange Zest. I thought this color combo was totes retro so I got out my Kitschy Kitchen stamps and Die-namics. First I dry embossed my subway tile background, popped it up on foam tape and added a butcher’s blog counter with White Birch Wood Adhesive Backed Sheet to create my kitchen.

MFTCPC85_2018jan11b

Then I stamped the bowls in the challenge colors, stacked them up with a spoon, cut from Silver Shine Card Stock and popped it all up on foam tape. To finish, I heat embossed the sentiment on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Speech Bubble Die-namics. Love how it looks like the bowls are talking, LOL!

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Love Struck–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #367

Stamps: Mini Well-Connected Alphabet & Numbers, Romantic Script Background, 100% Lovable, Marble Background Die-namics: Flop Card – Rectangle, Hearts in a Row – Vertical, Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Barbara Anders #mftstamps

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_367
OK, the first thing I saw when I looked at this sketch was a flop card! So that’s what I did :) I’m using some just release stamps from MFT along with some older products. The outside sentiment was done with Mini Well-Connected Alphabet & Numbers—I’m predicting that I’m going to get a LOT of use out of this set :)

Another sentiment, from 100% Lovable is on the inside. Flop cards are so easy to make with the MFT dies and they are a super fun interactive card to receive.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
