MFT February Creative Challenge–Hop Into Action!

creativechallenge1_2015feb17

Is there any holiday that spotlights sweet and cuddly imagery more than Easter? Bunnies, chicks, and eggs in pretty pastels are the norm but I have a feeling our team will open your eyes to a variety of beautiful new Easter crafting ideas with this month’s Creative Challenge. Get a jump (or a hop?) start on Easter projects as we hop into action, Easter-style!

Hello, everyone! I’ve got a couple of sweet and cuddly cards for you today. My first one starts with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then on a piece of water color paper, I stamped Mini Chicken Wire Background with Sweet Tooth pigment ink, heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder, and did a water color wash with Berrylicious dye ink refill. I stamped the grass from BB Let’s Hang Out and the chick legs from LJD Embellished Eggs at the bottom, tied some hemp cord around the top, and popped it up on foam mounting tape. I cut and stamped the chicks from LJD Easter Elements Die-namics and LJD Embellished Eggs using Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb paper and Daffodil dye ink and popped them up on foam. The sentiment is also from LJD Embellished Eggs, stamped on Black Licorice card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder. I added tiny black flat backed beads for the chicks’ eyes and finished off with some enamel dots.

Another sentiment from LJD Embellished Eggs was stamped on the INSIDE with Black Licorice dye ink.

My second card was done with a little help from some peeps :)

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and added a border on the right side made with Harlequin Stencil and Pink Lemonade dye ink and Daffodil dye ink. I dry embossed another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock with Polka Dot Stencil, trimmed it down, and popped it up on foam mounting tape. Then I cut my peeps from Candy Jars Die-namics using Daffodil card stock and Pink Lemonade card stock and popped them up on foam as well. The sentiment is from Candy Jar Companions and was stamped on Black Licorice card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink, heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder and also popped up on foam. To finish off, I added some enamel dots.

The sentiment INSIDE the card is from LJD Easter Bunny and was stamped with Black Licorice dye ink.
