Fabulous Is a Frame of Mind–CTD #398

CTD398_2016jun22

Hello and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! This weel Lynn is our hostess and she has picked a tropical palette that says summer is here!

I had so much fun making this card! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then did a bright watercolor background with Peerless Watercolors on Ranger Watercolor Paper. I popped that up on foam after stamping the sentiment, from LLD Tickled Pink, with Black Licorice hybrid ink. Then I added LLD Flamingos Die-namics, cut from Razzle Berry card stock, Sweet Tooth card stock, Black Licorice card stock, and Grout Gray card stock.

To complete the color palette, I stamped flowers from BB Polynesian Paradise, cut out with BB Polynesian Paradise Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and adhered to the card front.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD398 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd398 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented June Guest, Kara Vrabel!

  2. Placing the colourful flowers in the corner and at the base of the Flamingo die cut makes for a great LO, and allows lots of visual space to enjoy that beautiful watercolour BG!
