MFT November Teaser, Day Five

It's day four of MFT November teasers. You've been seeing some amazing projects with these new set, haven't you?! I'm in awe of the design team! Today we're showing you à la modes - Knit Happens and à la modes - Disco Queen. Yep, those sassy girls are back with two adorable sets. I'm showing you à la modes - Disco Queen, but first...

...here are the details about the upcoming release on November 1 at 10 PM EST:
  • You can attend the New Release Party on November 1st from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can enjoy fun, games, and PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, is on November 1 at 10 PM EST.  You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.

And now, let's boogie!!! OMGosh, I love this set! Totally reminds me of Saturday Night Fever, one of my all-time favorite movies.

She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers--except her dress was paper pieced. I thought the mirror ball called for some bling, so I added that on that paisley paper--so retro, right?

Here's a close up of my border that I made with the new Crown Border Die-namics die and of the Loopy Bloom Die-namics flower. I cut it from silver metallic paper and after I got it assembled, I swiped it with some Distress Ink, then gave it a quick blast with a spray adhesive and sprinkled some Gunmetal Glitter Ritz glitter on it then shook the excess off. See how crisp the fold on the paper is? The built-in score line helps you get such a clean fold. Have you ever tried to fold card stock with out scoring first? Not very neat, is it? This die takes care of that for you. It's awesome.

Here you can see where I added some Crystal Effects to the mirror ball to add some shine :)

Here's the inside with another awesome sentiment from the set.

That's it from me today! I'll be back tomorrow with another teaser. Thanks so much for stopping by!

When I first saw this set I immediately thought how classic in style it was. This set has so many sentiments and images--and so many people that it could be used for and to me, it says Grandmother.

First of all I stamped the silhouette image with Versafine Onyx Black ink to get good coverage. Then I over stamped it with the crackle image with Distress Ink in Antique Linen and sponged the edges. Then I stamped the rich frame border with Versamark and heat embossed with fine detail gold embossing powder and cut the frame out with the matching die, using THIS technique. Then it was just a matter of adding the sentiment, cut out with part of the Sweet Stack Die-namics set, and that gorgeous bling.

Here's the inside. How do you like that doily image that's just like the Decorative Doily Die-namics? Sweet, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another teaser!

Sweet Holiday Wishes - C4C #111

It's Saturday so it's C4C time! Today's challenge is brought to us by Tammy and since it's soon going to be Halloween, her challenge is to make a card or project with candy. I'm done with Halloween and she didn't say it HAD to be Halloween candy so I went with Christmas instead :) You can get all the details at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

I'm using MFT's à la modes - Candy Cane Kisses for my card today. I colored her with Copic markers and then cut her out and popped her up on foam.

Simple layout but that paper and ribbon just compliment that little cutie so well, I think. Herre's the inside with another sentiment from the set.

Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)
THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C111.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Flourishes Friday Free For All

Hi, all, welcome to Flourishes Friday Free For All! I've been dying to try this project ever since I got my hands on the recently released set, Holiday Sparkle. I immediately saw the potential for REAL ornaments!!

I may have mentioned a time or two that I am an extreme Christmas decorator. I put up many trees, one of which is smaller and has the theme of "Santa Lite". By that I mean every Santa on the tree has a pastel colored or white robe. And since they're all Antique Santas in style, this little guy will fit in perfectly!

First of all I stamped the image with Gold Encore pigment ink on Classic White card stock and heat embossed with fine detail gold embossing powder. Then I colored them with Copic markers, using these collection:

Finally, I cut them out and put a hook in the loop. I did glue a metal jump ring on the back of the loop at the top to prevent tearing with use. These are gonna look so CUTE on that tree! And so easy to store--they'll take up very little room :)

So, that's it for me. Be sure to take a look at what the rest of the design team has for you.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
~Supplies~
Stamps: Holiday Sparkle (Floruishes)
Paper: Classic White (Flourishes)
Ink: Encore Gold
Accessories: heat tool, fine detail embossing powder, jump rings, Copic markers

MFT November Teaser, Day Three

Hi, there! Back today with another MFT November teaser! Today we're showing you Clearly Sentimental about Abundance (previous Triple Scoop) and Clearly Sentimental about Christmas (Triple Scoop Set). I *had* to play with Clearly Sentimental About Christmas, but first...

I just love a sentiment as a focal image. I really do.

I stamped this sentiment on a soon-to-be-released die, Clearly Sentimental Label Die-namics. This die will accommodate the larger sentiments and was something I've really been wanting. I'm happy now :) OK, so I stamped the sentiment, then punched holes in each end through which to run my ribbon. Then I tied on a button at each end. Don't you love that border? Yep, another new Die-namics die, Wonky Scallop Border. Love it!! See that little holly leaf embellishment? It's from a new set called Christmas Ornaments Die-namics. Be still, be still my heart. You'll be seeing more about it tomorrow, I'm sure. Just sayin'...

And here's the inside. Simple, leaving plenty of room for a personal note.

Thanks for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for another teaser!

I just love this set! And you will too once you get your hands on it. Trust me :)

I stamped the bells image and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out and matted it with a Open Scallop Doily Duo Die-naimics die cut before popping it up on foam. My layout is from CPS, which is sponsored by MFT this week. Only I flipped it. No surprise there ;-) I stamped the sentiment on a flag cut with one of the fishtail dies from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics set. I offset the words a bit so it wouldn't extend over the edge of the card and added some little pearl accents for balance.

Here's the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you back tomorrow for another November teaser!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Inspired by Christmas (MFT)
Paper: Fossil, Wild Cherry, Perfect Paper Panel; Signature Christmas (MME)

Fight Like a Girl - MFTWSC #43

Are you ready for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This sketch just said à la modes to me, LOL. So I decided to make one more card to put in my package to M D Anderson. You can see all about it at the SCS Hope You Can Cling To challenge forum HERE.

This image is from MFT's most recent release, and is called à la modes - Fight like a Girl. So appropriate, don't you think?

So, I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic markers and paper pieced her outfit. Then I matted her with black card stock and popped her up on foam. I stamped that pink twill I had in my stash with a sentiment from the set and formed a Breast Cancer Awareness pink ribbon. I stamped it with Versamark Onyx Black because I love how crisp it stamps, and I thought I needed that on the twill. Under the pink ribbon, I placed some stars cut with my Stacking Stars Die-namics dies. You know, to show the old, 1-2 knockout punch?

Here's the inside, with another copy of the girl and another sentiment.

Well, that's it for me today, I promise! Thanks so much for stopping by!

~Supplies~
Stamps: à la modes - Fight like a Girl (MFT)
Paper: Sweet Tooth, Black Licorice, Perfect Paper Panel; Breast Cancer Awareness paper (M&MBI)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories/tools: Vagabond (Tim Holtz); Stacking Stars Die-namics die (MFT); twill, Copic markers

Belated Birthday - CTD #165

It's time for Color Throwdown! Today's colors were chosen by the sweet and talented Laura and are indeed lovely. They were inspired by Crate Paper's Farmhouse collection so that's what I used. No need to reinvent the wheel, right?

I really do need a belated birthday card so that's what I went with. I'm using MFT's First Class Friend Die-namics and Stamp Set for my project today. I'm also using the Postage Border Die-namics die for my, well, my border ;-) A little stitching, some seam binding and some other embellishments, and it was done! I really love how this came together.

Here's the inside with more sentiments from the set.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD165 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Barbara Anders (<--- You are here!)

Today, we're showing you Who's That Girl Gets Cozy With Cocoa! If she looks familiar, that's because she was available in the VIP kit a couple of weeks ago. But now she will be available as a stand alone, and just in time to hand out some warm cocoa hugs.

I used THIS tutorial to make my Pull Up Treat Bag project for today.

After I stamped my image, I colored with Copic markers and mainly paper pieced. Then I cut it out and layered it with a Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics die cut and popped it up on some foam dots.

Here you see I've added a border made with the soon-to-be-released Icicle Border Die-namics die. See how realistic those icicles look? B-r-r-r-r-r-r-r! They just look so COOL, don't they? In so many ways ;-) Then I added some Maraschino Red baker's twine and a button, with a tag made with the Notched Tag Die-namics die and a sentiment from the set.

Here's what's in the treat bag. Yum! :)

OK, that's all for me this time! Thanks for stopping by!
